The Portsmouth Rotary Club Holds Record-breaking Golf Tournament Benefiting Local Charities
Portsmouth, NH -- July 1, 2005 -- On June 20, the Portsmouth Rotary Club held its 12th Annual Portsmouth Rotary Club Golf Tournament at The Ledges Golf Club to benefit local charities. The event broke all previously set records with a first-ever sold-out event, sponsored by over thirty companies and raising over $20,000.
"With one hundred forty-four golfers participating, it was a fun event," said golf chairman David Hodgdon of PCG and Click'n Fix. "We are thrilled that The Portsmouth Rotary was successful in raising money for worthwhile causes in our local community, and it was an honor for us to participate."
The event was a four-person scramble and included prizes on all Par 3's, a new car for a hole-in-one, a longest drive contest and numerous raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
